             INSTRUCTIONS FOR ARTISTS
   WHO WISH TO BE ON THE EGA WEBSITE
 

Generally, being an EGA webmember means you wish to participate in the online Art2Hang Program.  Like the normal Art2Hang program binder circulated to businesses by the Art2hang Chairperson, prospective businesses can see your artwork and choose to have you show your artwork for two months in their businesses.  However, being an EGA webmember also allows you to have your contact information on the Members page and your personal website on the Links page.  Great exposure at a low annual cost!  More detail follows:
1) Ensure that your Elk Grove Artists membership is current by contacting the Membership Chairperson.  If you are not a current member, make out a $35 check to: Elk Grove Artists, writing "Membership" in the Comments section of your check.  Mail the check to: Elk Grove Artists, PO Box 2175, Elk Grove, California, 95759-2175.

2) Pay an annual $10 fee to be listed as a "Web Member" through December 2008 on the EGA website.  Make out a $10 check to:  Elk Grove Artists, writing "Art2Hang" in the Comments section of your check.  Mail the check to:  Elk Grove Artists, PO Box 2175, Elk Grove, California, 95759-2175.

3) E-mail to Kanika@Kanika.us  up to five .jpg-format digital pictures (preferably each less than 100 KB in size). Label each of your digital pictures  with your name and the title of the work.  For example: Kanika_SpringFlowers.jpg would be the name of the .jpg file for the picture entitled "Spring Flowers" by the artist named Kanika. 

NOTE:  In January and June of each year, you may change your pictures on the website.

4) E-mail to Kanika@Kanika.us a 100-word biography about you and/or your art.  Also include in this e-mail your name, phone number or e-mail address, and/or website URL address.  You must provide a method for prospective businesses to get in touch with you (such as a phone number, e-mail, and/or website).  Please be aware that providing your e-mail address may lead to increased junk e-mail because our website is listed very high on the search engines and lots of real art lovers (and SPAMMER-people) look at it.

5) Your $10 annual payment also includes your being on the Members Page with one picture of your artwork, your name, phone number and/or e-mail address, and/or website URL.  Let Kanika know which of your images you would like to have on the Members Page or she will choose one herself.

6) Additionally, if you have your own website, your web URL will be placed on the Links page of this website if you are a web member.  All for a one-time $10 fee to last two years until December 2008 . . . a real bargain!

7) If you do not have e-mail, you may snail mail your biography and a CD or diskette with up to five 100 KB or smaller .jpg images to Kanika, PO Box 1202, Elk Grove, CA, 95759-1202. 

8) Ensure that you fill out a Waiver of Liability each time you show your work in a business participating in the Art2Hang Program.  A copy should be mailed to the Art2Hang Coordinator.
