
The Elk Grove Artists is a very active community group. In addition to interesting monthly meetings, the group has an annual art show during the spring months, annual high school art competition, and various other art-related events throughout the year. Click on the red hyperlinks

2007 - Elk Grove Fine Arts Festival
In March, all forms of artistry were represented at the Wackford Aquatic Center for a rousing day of writing, visual and performing arts.
2007 - High School Framing Workshop
In March, the EGA conducted an informative framing workshop for high school seniors who entered the Elk Grove Artists High School Art Competition.

2006 - Spring Art Show
Elk Grove Artists presented its Fifth Annual Art Show on June 10th at the Elk Park Village Shopping Center.
2006 - High School Art Contest
In May, the EGA conducted a successful citywide art competition among high school seniors in the Elk Grove area.

2005 - City of Elk Grove Second Annual Art Purchase
The City of Elk Grove purchased artworks from 14 local artists to be placed in various buildings within the city.
2005 - Aesthetics, Art, and Culture
Kate Anderson gave an absorbing presentation on aesthetics, art, and culture and was gracious enough to allow us to include her well-prepared speech and images on the Elk Grove Artists website. Please contact Kate if you wish to reproduce any part of her presentation.
2005 - Hands in Clay Workshop
Kanika Marshall, Sharon Zachary, and Sharon Scott conducted a hands-on workshop using clay for about 45 creative adults. We rolled, cut, and hand-sculpted several clay projects. A fabulous treat was having Franklin High School's art instructor, Derek, show us how to use the potter's wheel.
2005 - Spring Art Show
Elk Grove Artists presented its Fourth Annual Art Show on June 11th at the Elk Park Village Shopping Center. There were original arts and crafts by local artists, entertainment by the Elk Grove Magician's Circle, Elk Grove Community Band, and face painting. Also featured was the artwork from Andrew Ray, one of the two high school seniors who won Elk Grove Artists art scholarships.

2004 - Wine and Art Evening at McConnell Estates Winery
Our September 24, 2004, "Art and Wine Evening" was a huge success! We cleared about $500 for our youth art scholarship program. Many thanks to McConnell Estates Winery for providing an elegant art space and wonderful wines to sample and purchase. And our sincere appreciation to the Elk Grove Community Band for providing a classy musical backdrop to the wonderful artwork submitted by Elk Grove artists.
2004 - Spring Art Show
Elk Grove Artists presented its Third Annual Art Show on June 12 at the Elk Park Village Shopping Center. There were original arts and crafts by local artists, entertainment by the Elk Grove Magician's Circle, Elk Grove Community Band, and face painting. Also featured was the artwork from Vanessa Olson and Yer Vang, the two high school seniors who won Elk Grove Artists art scholarships.
2004 - First Art Purchase by the City of Elk Grove
On May 12, 2004, the Elk Grove City Council invited the community to a wonderful event titled "Art and Hors D'oeuvres with the Council." This gave the community of Elk Grove a first look at the artwork that was purchased by the City. Participants were also able to discuss items of interest with the City Council. The following pictures attest to the great turnout! Many EGA members were present supporting the event, as well as the
public.

2003 - Hand-Painted Mural for Methodist Hospital by the EGA for their pediatric unit.
2003 - How to Have a Successful Show in an Art Gallery
was a special event sponsored by the EGA in August 2003 and featuring Michael Genung (Alexis Genung Studios), Kim Curry-Evans (St. Hope Corporation Visual Arts Program), and Jim Ferry (20th Street Gallery). All proceeds went to the EGA scholarship fund.
2003 - Emotive Oil Painting with Gina Leyton was the speaker for the September 2003 meeting.
2003 - Hands in Clay workshop with Kanika Marshall, Joyce Westergaard, and Sharon Easley-Zachary at the October 2003 meeting.
2003 - Papermaking with Libby Harmor at the November 2003 meeting.
