Methodist Hospital Pediatric Unit Mural Project
EGA was asked to help with the renovation of the Pediatric Unit at Methodist Hospital in south Sacramento. It involved donating our time and talents in the creation of wall murals for the unit. August and September were devoted to the design process and then on October 1st the painting began. We completed the project on November 19, 2003. An unveiling of the murals and a tree lighting ceremony was held at the hospital on December 9th.
Mural Team 2003 consisted of 23 wonderfully dedicated and talented EGA artists who put in over 1000 hours to complete this gift for the young patients, their families and the hospital staff. Team members were, Adelay Idler, Alpha Work, Ann Saibeni, Beverly Bennett, Carl Warmdahl, Carolyn Groth, Charlotte Hinton, Cheryl Griess, Dee Tschida, Judy Cargill, Julie Ettare, Kate Anderson, Katy Schneider, Laurie Gonsalves, Mary Marshall, Michael Gill, Miriam Stillman,
Nadine Simons, Nula Fales, Patti Williams, Teresa Garcia, Ursula McComb and Virginia Johnston.
Our dedication plaque in the Pediatric Unit Lobby sums it up, “The members of Elk Grove Artists sincerely hope that these whimsical murals we’ve created, will make the children’s stay more comforting and brighten their day.”
